These glazed construction components are made of pottery clay and coated with glazes of yellow, green, reddish brown, and other colors. A thick glaze layer gives these construction components, which are decorated with various engraved patterns, a glass-like texture, making them look shiny and colorful. According to literature, these glazed bricks with different decorative patterns were the construction components for arch doors on each floor of the Glazed Tile Pagoda in the Dabao’en Temple.
